As always, the health and safety of children and families is our top priority. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to implement changes regarding Summer Camp. We have decided that we will be opening and running summer camp out of our Essex location only. Our Essex facility is well equipped to house camp and enables us to follow mandatory health and safety requirements outlined by the Child Development Division (“CDD”) and the Vermont Department of Health.
The Camp EDGE Summer experience will be different this year, however, our dedication to providing a warm and nurturing environment that allows us to develop a trusting and respectful relationship with your family has not changed. We are here to foster the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of each child and to promote wellness and healthy living.

Hours of Care: 8:00AM-5:00PM
Due to the new guidelines and regulations we are mandated to follow to ensure the safety of your camper, camp hours must be modified. Our new hours will be 8:00-5:00pm. The first and final half hour of our day will be for counselors to sanitize all items that were used and touched in each room. Our professional cleaning service will be on site each night to sanitize all surface areas and bathrooms.
Special Programming & Field Trips
At this time, all special programming and field trips will be discontinued for the summer. It is recommended that we limit the number of adults and spaces your children are exposed to as much as possible. Campers will be allowed to watch prerecorded videos of Dance, Music, Yoga and Creative Movement instruction for up to 30 minute intervals, no more than once a day to add diversity to their day. Once a week campers will have ‘Movie & Popcorn’ quiet time. (Only G rated movies will be allowed.) Campers will also have access to our Gauthier outdoor tennis courts, and if guidance in the future allows, Morse Drive pool and Gauthier water slide. While these will not be formal lessons, it will be another feature of our weekly programs. Please note that any water activities will be monitored by a certified life-guard.
Daily Routine and Group Sizing
To limit as much exposure to additional people and germs, each group will remain in their designated spaces for the entire day, aside from a minimum of two outdoor times, swimming and tennis. Group sizing will be limited to allow for as much physical distancing as possible and combining of groups will not be allowed.
*The EDGE will be following daily updates and guidance regarding best practice from the Vermont Department of Health.
